Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator (Part-time) (A.C. Lewis YMCA)

Under the direction of the Member Services Director and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator is responsible for growing Group Fitness, Small Group Training, and Personal Training at the A.C. Lewis Jr., YMCA. This position requires flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends, as necessary.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides oversight and management of the Healthy Lifestyle Programs (i.e. Group Exercise, Small Group Training, and Personal Training).
  • Create and deliver group exercise classes, small group training, and personal training sessions.
  • Work in conjunction with the Members Services Director to aid in the facilitation of FitPath Orientations.
  • Recruit and train new instructors to the Healthy Lifestyle Team and maintain appropriate levels of staff to deliver programming.
  • Participates in leadership meetings and work with Healthy Lifestyle team members to drive the Y Mission of Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
  • Implement and grow the Y’s chronic disease programs (LiveStrong-Cancer Survivor, Enhanced Fitness, Parkinson’s Program).
  • Maintains necessary certifications
  • Personal growth in certifications/education.
  • Routinely clean and sanitize facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • All other miscellaneous duties assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree or equivalent required; BS degree preferred.
  • Current Nationally Accredited Fitness Certification or Personal Training Certification.
  • Experience in fitness management and programming preferred.
  • Highly developed organizational skills.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
  • Within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention training; CPR; First Aid; AED; Oxygen Administration

Salary:
$12/hour for Administrative Tasks
$18-$25/hour (dependent on experience) for Personal Training and Group Exercise Instructor
