Volunteer Coaches

Come join us and let’s make a difference in our community through sports. The Y takes pride in developing and mentoring youth to become future leaders.  As one of our coaches, you will be holding weekly practice(s), games, communication with team parents and the YMCA Sports Director. Our Spring, Winter, Fall and Summer sports are a 8-week commitment, with at least one hour per week practice and games will take place on Saturdays


• Coach weekend games for approximately 8 weeks.
• Manage all kids playing time
• Conduct practice at least once a week; teaching them drills and game rules.
• Communicate with team and parents regarding location, practice and game times.
• Active coaches attend begin of season coaches meeting.
• Contact Sports Director about any issues, concerns and questions in a respectful matter.
• Create a positive experience for both the kids and parents.
• Distribute YMCA end of season awards to each participant.
• Adhere to the YMCA Code of Conduct.

Skills and Abilities

At each respectful age level, coaches will be responsible for their basic knowledge of the sport. Coaches maintaining a consistence and instructional practice using various drills.

To become a volunteer coach, the registration process includes:
Complete a coach's package
Criminal Background Check
