The YMCA of the Capital Area completed a $30+ million investment in Mid City with the reopening of A. C. Lewis YMCA. In partnership with the Office of Community Development and Bearing Point Properties the project addresses the pressing need for affordable living spaces for individuals and families. This redevelopment project provides workforce housing intended to support people in middle-income professions, including police officers, firefighters, teachers, retail staff, and more. The transformational project includes 100 new affordable apartments, not subsidized housing, for Mid City. In addition to the apartments, the new YMCA facility has also been constructed at the South Foster site. The Y is excited to be part of the solution to address the housing challenge for young professionals and continue to serve as an asset to the community for many years to come. You can be a part of it all by donating today!
BE PART OF SOMETHING GREAT
The A. C. Lewis YMCA is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families, and communities. For our Y to make the greatest impact, philanthropy is essential. Lasting and needed change is best accomplished when we work together to invest in kids, our health, and our neighbors. The programs that will provided with our new facility will serve as a community cornerstone, creating opportunities for thousands of neighbors across the Mid City community to connect and thrive together.
